The Weather is Changing and We are Moving
/Winter is over so it is time to start migrating north for cooler temperatures as spring and summer heat up. It was definitely getting too warm and humid for us the last couple of weeks and we were ready to head north for spring. We ended up staying a few extra weeks at Three Flags to get our second COVID vaccine. We were excited to get our second shots this past Monday and we both did pretty well after the shots. I had a few mild symptoms for just a day but Tim just had a sore arm. Definitely worth it. In two weeks, we should have immunity and will feel much more comfortable being out and about. I am looking forward to touring more in our upcoming travels.
I took Aunt Tish and Uncle Paul for their second shots Friday. They are looking forward to getting back to their normal life, especially daily breakfast at a local diner. That is their social time so I know they will enjoy seeing friends again. I have a feeling that they will be there in two weeks for breakfast. It is such a good feeling for life to get back to normal. Even though we were cautious, we were able to spend a bit of time with them this winter. It was a blessing to be able to spend quality time together. I am glad we had that family time and am looking forward to seeing them again next winter.
I didn’t think that we did much during our last two weeks in Wildwood, but we were pretty busy. After spending 5 months in one place, we had spread our stuff out more than we do while traveling. When you live in a small space, it is easy to create clutter. It took a bit of effort to reorganize our storage bins outside and clean and reorganize inside. I think Tim unpacked and repacked the outside storage a few times as he organized his tools. He got rid of some tools and other stuff that he really wasn’t using. Why haul the extra weight if we don’t need to. I also organized my closet and pulled out some clothes to donate. It took us a few days to get ready to travel again.
In between working, we had a beach day. I was glad we made it back to the beach even if it was only once. I will miss the sand and sun but am ready to see different scenery. We plan to visit a few of the Great Lakes this year, so we can get some beach time then. In the meantime, I will savor the memory of a perfect sunny day at Fort Island Beach I will definitely be back next winter.
After we finished organizing and packing, we spent our last few days in Florida relaxing at the campground with family and friends. Janet and Lou came over for a campfire one last time so we enjoyed one last visit with them until next winter. Unless we see them on the road sometime. They are hoping to get out for a few trips with their RV soon. We spent a few evenings with our new friends, Gary and Jen. We initially met them at Hidden Cove in the fall and luckily they stayed at Three Flags a couple times while we were there. It was great getting to know them and joining them for drinks a few times. We saw Sue and Greg for Easter Sunday and hoped to see them again before we left. Unfortunately, the weather got in the way. Definitely plan to spend time with them next winter.
Of course, the cows stopped by to say goodbye too. All in all, we enjoyed our time in Wildwood and are looking forward to another winter there. In the meantime, we will enjoy traveling again and seeing some new places. We left yesterday and are happy to be on the road again. Stay tuned for future updates on our travels.
